The DON/FM works with an advanced level of autonomy and decision making to guide clinical services and to engage with key stakeholders including community groups. The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences. With a 13 bed Multipurpose Health Service and Medical Centre, the team at Dirranbandi are passionate about their town and their community. There is a real sense of belonging here. Nursing, Medical, Operational and Administration staff all work together to make sure the community has a service it can be proud of and have faith in. Nursing in the rural clinical setting sees nurses expand their knowledge and skills and be ready to deliver care to a wide range of acute, chronic and emergency presentations.
